Objectives
Provide user with essential information on emergency preparedness and response to give user the peace of mind knowing they are equipped to effectively handle emergencies
Socio-Economic Benefit
GoSAFE aims to significantly enhance women's safety in Pakistan by providing a reliable and efficient means to seek help during emergencies. The app fosters a sense of security and empowerment, encouraging women to navigate their daily lives with greater confidence. By integrating with local law enforcement and utilizing both digital and physical safety measures, GoSAFE not only aids in rapid response to threats but also promotes community awareness and involvement in safety initiatives. Ultimately, this project contributes to creating a safer, more inclusive society where women's rights and well-being are prioritized.
Methodologies
The development of GoSAFE follows a structured approach to ensure a seamless and efficient process. Key methodologies include: Agile Development: Using an iterative and incremental approach, we ensure continuous improvement and adaptation to user feedback. User-Centric Design: Incorporating user feedback and usability testing to create an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface. Cross-Platform Development: Utilizing Flutter and Dart to develop a consistent app experience on both iOS and Android platforms. Backend Integration: Employing Firebase for real-time data synchronization, secure authentication, and cloud storage. Hardware Integration: Implementing Arduino-based devices in public spaces for physical safety measures, tested for reliability and compatibility. Collaboration and Version Control: Using GitHub for smooth teamwork and effective code management.
Outcome
The GoSAFE project will culminate in the successful development and deployment of a comprehensive women’s safety app tailored to the needs of users in Pakistan. This app will offer critical features such as distress signal activation, real-time location sharing, and direct communication with law enforcement, all integrated into an intuitive user interface. Additionally, Arduino-based hardware devices will be installed in public spaces to enhance physical safety measures. The collaboration with local police departments will ensure rapid emergency responses, significantly improving women's safety and empowerment. Ultimately, GoSAFE will foster a safer environment, promoting community awareness and support, and contributing to the broader goal of gender equality and social justice.
